Abstract
Starbucks is a coffee outlet network from United States, known as a place to socialize, especially for urban communities. As the biggest coffee outlet company in the world, with more than 15,000 outlets in 44 countries, Starbucks sells espresso hot coffee, other cold and hot drinks, snacks, cups, and coffee beans. Starbucks Coffee in 5th floor Plaza Senayan has a unique and attractive condition compared with some outlets at other places. The outlet position is not very visible or far from the crowded center in a mall, and not located at food area. Based on the research result with a mapping method (place or person center mapping), also a physical trace, and interview result, the it can be concluded that drinking coffee and sitting are the main activities which generally happened in a coffee outlet. The transaction process at an order area and order withdrawal area seems quite disorder and confusing, especially for a new customer. Moreover, this condition happens when there is a quite crowded queue of visitors and seems in disorder. Eventually, the outlet area becomes uncomfortable, so that the existing spaces become less qualified.
