Abstract

Fast growing Information Technology (IT) pace is leading information system management technique in an organization dramatically changed. Many of these changes affect the ongoing Business process or Business rule. It could change on how we manage the internal process, the relationship with client, and how we do the competition. Management should aware of these opportunities and threats. Business strategy often neglected by a company which in a state of “surviving in the crisis era”. But many of them sometime spend information technology budget without having the big picture or IT strategic plan. In this article, we discuss the importance of having both Business strategy and IT strategy in daily Business practice. The consequences of not aligned them, not fully integrate the component of them, the key success factor of IT implementation are included in the discussion. This article is intended to give an model of research, for further investigation, whether IT strategic existence – is only conceptual issues or already an actual Business need. We propose a model of examining the existence of IT strategy and its relationship between the Business practice, Business strategy and IT strategy implementation. The main idea of the article is to build awareness of the importance of IT strategic planning.
