Abstract

Recently, the usage of a mobile cellular as a communication device has been determined by its service area. In the topographical area with many different heights, the location and the amount of base stations are significant in estimating the wide of an operator service area. This paper generates software that can be used to simulate and find solution about the optimal position of base station in the form of numeral and graphical image. In this case, wire frame graphics method and point to point method are used to find out the solution about the simulation problem and the wide of base station area that can be reached by the base station. Meanwhile, genetic algorithm is chosen to give an optimal solutionin wsitionina the base station because it has the ability to effectively find a good solution. From the observation that has been done, this software is able to show the result of graphical simulation and find out about the wide of base station, whether it consists of one or more base stations. However, this software can also answer the problem about the optimal position of base station, especially in topographical area that has many different heights.
